Florida Coalition for Children
Florida Coalition for Children (FCC) advocates for Florida’s abused and neglected children and supports the agencies and individuals who work on their behalf. FCC works with its lobbyists, the FCC Legislative Committee, members of the Legislature, and other child agencies to monitor and affect legislation impacting its member agencies and their children. The Coalition facilitates member collaboration and resource sharing and educates state and local policymakers about issues affecting children and families in crisis and the agencies involved in their care and treatment.
Working with the FCC and Child Welfare Lead Agencies in Florida, Five Points developed the Community Based Resource Information System (CoBRIS). CoBRIS provides a portal to all information about a child in care, regardless of its source, while adhering to statewide standards for data processing and uniform reporting. The system is based on data extracted from Florida’s Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS),
Five Points, identified data requirements with the FCC, created analysis and reporting databases based on data extracted from existing state systems, and developed CoBRIS to gather, house, and provide access to the data, with dashboards, reports and alerts to monitor critical data. During analysis and development Five Points identified missing data elements and built local databases to track data not captured in legacy systems. Five Points provides ongoing maintenance, enhancement, hosting and data services for users of CoBRIS.
